Hotkeys

There are so many hotkeys that I have committed to memory over the years. It's pretty unlikely that I will forget them, and anyone I point to this page will likely only get confused. Here are some of the basics to get you off the ground:

Command		Description
B		Brush
E		Eraser
[ and ]		Increase/Decrease Brush size
Space, Click Drag		Pan along BG
L		Lasso Tool
M		Marquee Tool
Ctrl +		Zoom in
Ctrl -		Zoom out
Ctrl U		Adjust Hue/Saturation/Contrast of selected layer
F		Cycles 3 modes that change background colours, and makes your toolbars disappear. Super useful because you can pan beyond the border of your canvas
TAB		Show/Hide Toolbars
Ctrl, Backspace		fill selection (or full screen) with current colour
Alt, Backspace		fill selection (or full screen) with current secondary colour
Z		Switch between current colour and secondary colour
Ctrl D		Deselect All

GPU Dependent Hotkeys
Here are some super sweet hotkeys, but you may or may not be able to use them depending on your video card. This is how to enable them, if you have the hardware that allows it:

* Edit > Preferences > Performance
* Under GPU Settings, check "Enable OpenGL drawing"
* If it is greyed out, you do not have the system requirements for these features.

Command		Description
Ctrl, Space, ClickDrag		Zoom in/Zoom out
R, ClickDrag		Dynamically Rotate canvas left and right
Space, ClickDrag		Now when you pan, it slides along your background.

Configuration

View > Show > Pixel Grid						## Disable Pixel Grid

Custom Brushes

Version		Max Brush Resolution
Photoshop 7		999 x 999
Photoshop 7+		2500 x 2500

#### Paint Brush
## Create a square canvas to become your brush
## Draw something in black on the canvas - this will become the alpha for your brush


#### Create Brush
## Select Edit  >  Define Brush

## hit F5 to bring up the brush menu, choose the brush you just created

## Tweak the settings on your brush, and when you are happy with it click the arrow 
## in the top right of the brush menu and select create new brush preset. This will 
## save all the settings that you just changed. You can now delete the original brush 
## if you choose.

Useful Tips

Tileable Textures

Filters > Other > Offset								## Use This to create tileable textures

Animated Gifs

Window > Animation                        ## display animation pane
OptionBox > Convert to Frame Animation    ## (so that you see each frame in the animation)
OptionBox > Make Frames from Layers       ## (all of your layers are made into individual frames)
