The PS3 USB controller drivers are included with the kernel. Check if your controller was detected by the kernel by checking for
/dev/input/js0.The sixaxis controller is constantly giving motion feedback, which can make it difficult to bind keys. I used qjoypad to map my keys instead, a layer on top of the program.
