Issuing commands to bitlbee

While on the &bitlbee channel, do not use the / prefix for commands.

Example

help
identify <password>
# ...

Adding Bitlbee Server

NOTE:

does not apply to you if using znc

Add server to ZNC, or your irc client see znc.

/server add bitlbee <ip_addr>/6667 # bitlbee doesn't do ssl, you're better off doing it through ZNC, using localhost
/j &bitlbee
register <password> # all account settings saved with this pass
identify <password> # login
plugins # list installed plugins

Adding Bitlbee Bridge

This varies based on the client. Generally it looks like this

/identify <yourpassword>
/account add jabber bitlbee@jabber.org QuickStart
